With more than half the season gone, it is time to reflect on all the things that happened and talk more about the biggest upcoming event in the NFL, the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl was originally formed back in 1920, and the surprising fact is that it wasn’t played until more than 40 years later.
It all started back in 1960 when a group of businessmen who wanted to own football franchises was denied by the NFL, which resulted in launching their own alternative league known as American Football League (AFL).
After several years, the NFL and AFL were rivals, and the first Super Bowl featured the AFL (Kansas City Chiefs) and NFL champions (Green Bay Packers). After the leagues merged and split into two main conferences, the champions of each conference participate in the Super Bowl.
Who are The Contenders for Participating in the Super Bowl?
This year, we had some big-time movement when it comes to the Super Bowl odds. We’ve seen some shifts in the league after some unexpected performances from the teams, which led to seeing some changes in the odds of some of the favorites.
At the beginning of the season, Kansas City Chiefs were the early favorite to win the 2022 Super Bowl, followed by the Packers, the Buccaneers, and the Baltimore Ravens. However, things have changed significantly since then.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
After their incredible performance at the first half of this season, the Buccaneers quickly climbed on the first place when it comes to odds for winning the Super Bowl. Some of the highlights from this season feature the winning again the Indianapolis Colts 38-31. With Tom Brady still on great form at 44 years of age, it’s a real possibility.
Kansas City Chiefs
Even though they fell down as the second favorite for winning the Super Bowl, the Kansas City Chiefs have another chance of redeeming the last year’s loss and getting their hands on the ultimate trophy.
They have a consistent performance with few small disappointments, which increased their odds to +700, but we’ve seen the Chiefs overcoming much more serious problems, so they are definitely a contender for the next year’s Super Bowl.
Green Bay Packers
Most people unexpected to see The Packers as a contender for the upcoming Super Bowl, but after their 36-28 win over the Rams, they climbed the table. However, it seems like the team will run into problems after Aaron Rodgers acquired a toe injury that will hunt him down all season and into the playoffs.
Buffalo Bills
The situation in the AFT East is a bit difficult especially after New England’s win over Buffalo. The Buffalo Bills had a great start this season but it seems like they are falling down short as we approach the mid-season.
If we look at their past few games, we can spot a trend where they perform better when they are not playing at home. With that said, let’s hope that they have the ability to push even harder on the home stretch and appear in the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl Half-Time Show
Apart from the amazing teams and some great football that we will see in the upcoming Super Bowl, we get the chance to see some of the biggest music artists that will be appearing on the half-time show. From Jennifer Lopez and Shakira to The Weeknd last two Super Bowls were amazing.
However, judging from the artists that will be appearing on the Super Bowl 2022, this will be the most star-studded lineup we’ve ever seen on a Super Bowl.
This will be hip-hop infused show with some of the biggest names in the industry like Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J Blige. It is the first time that we will see all of these names together, so make sure you don’t miss out on their performance, it will be legendary.
