Yan Ni wrote on her personal social media: “The 14th National Games in Xi’an (the National Games held) was the fourth National Games I participated in, and it was also the curtain call for my volleyball career. It ended very successfully. Looking back on all these years. I went all out and didn’t feel ashamed. I completed all the missions. When I wanted to give up countless times, I finally clenched my teeth and persevered, bidding farewell to the stadium with a relatively satisfactory performance!”
Yan Ni also told Xinhua News Agency reporters that she felt that her career was “a very difficult process”, and winning the 2016 Rio Olympics was the most satisfying moment as an athlete. After retiring, she plans to continue to engage in volleyball-related work.
“After Rio (Olympics), we entered the Tokyo cycle to prepare for the battle. I think the process of everyone fighting together is precious. Although the final results are not ideal, I have no regrets because I gave my best and persisted.” Yan Ni added road.
The 34-year-old Yan Ni was on the court as a deputy attacker. With her excellent blocking performance, she was called the “Northern Great Wall” by fans. Yan Ni is a late bloomer.
