Rome, 7 October 2021 – Kateryna Monzul will referee England-Andorra, challenge valid for the qualifiers at World of 2022. The world of football is becoming more and more inclusive as regards the possibility for women to referee matches of men’s teams at high levels. Monzul, 40-year-old Ukrainian, had already covered the role of match director in a match between national teams, the one between San Marino e Gibraltar of Nations League in 2020. This time she will be entrusted with a match of greater depth, starring the national team of Southgate finalist to the last Europeans. His assistants will be Maryna Striletska and Svitlana Grushko, while the assistant to the Var will be the French Stephanie Frappart. The latter was the first woman to referee a Champions League match.
