Apple to Rebrand Apple ID as “Apple Account”, Expected to Launch This Year

According to a report from “MacRumors”, Apple is in the process of rebranding its Apple ID service to be known as “Apple Account.” The tech giant is reportedly testing this new reform and could potentially roll it out later this year.

Apple ID has been a cornerstone of Apple’s ecosystem for many years, allowing users to access various services such as iCloud and the App Store across their devices. With iCloud, users can sync data wirelessly and download applications from the App Store. The rebranding of Apple ID to “Apple Account” is expected to be completed by 2024 and released alongside iOS 18 and macOS 15.

While the reason for the rebranding is unclear, Apple is known for considering multiple names before launching new products or services. For example, the operating system now known as visionOS went through various internal names like “realityOS,” “xrOS,” and “visionOS” before its official release.

It is important to note that the final name of the rebranded service may not necessarily be “Apple Account” despite the current testing and preparations within Apple.
