Apple Reportedly Preparing to Rebrand Apple ID as “Apple Account”

According to a report by MacRumors, Apple is in the process of rebranding its popular Apple ID service to be known as “Apple Account”. Foreign media outlets have stated that Apple is currently testing this rebranding effort and is aiming to launch it later this year.

Apple ID has been a staple for Apple users for many years, allowing them to securely log in to various services such as iCloud and the App Store across multiple devices. The service also enables users to wirelessly sync data through iCloud and download apps from the App Store. MacRumors speculates that the rebranding of Apple ID to Apple Account will be completed by 2024 and will coincide with the release of iOS 18 and macOS 15.

While the reason for this rebranding effort has not been officially announced, sources suggest that Apple often considers multiple names before finalizing a product or service launch. For example, the operating system now known as visionOS went through several internal name options before its release. Therefore, it is possible that the final name of the rebranded service may not end up being “Apple Account”.

As the tech giant continues to innovate and improve its services, users can expect to see more updates and changes to enhance their overall experience with Apple products.
