GTA VI Set to Feature Female Protagonist

The highly anticipated sequel to the successful Grand Theft Auto V is generating buzz for its potential inclusion of a female playable character. The upcoming installment from Scottish developers, Rockstar Games, is rumored to have a female protagonist named Lucia, in addition to her partner, also playable, named Jason.

GTA V, which has sold a staggering 190 million copies worldwide, broke records by raising $800 million in sales within 24 hours of its release. The game’s success continued to soar, reaching $1 billion in sales just three days after its launch. Its creation reportedly cost Rockstar $265 million.

With the arrival of GTA VI, the hallmark series is expected to once again make waves. The game is set to be located in Vice City, a fictional representation of Miami, Florida. The trailer for the game suggests a return to the origins of the Grand Theft Auto saga, reminiscent of earlier installments in the series.

A post on LinkedIn from one of the game’s developers revealed that the team has been working on GTA VI since 2015, with a release date set for 2025. The level of effort and investment put into the game is indicative of Rockstar Games’ commitment to creating a superior successor to GTA V.

The developers have reportedly invested more than $500 million in the production of GTA VI, with an additional $100 million allocated for marketing. The game is expected to incorporate social network simulators, potentially introducing features such as Twitter (X) posts, Instagram live, and TikTok videos to engage with current trends and foster an interactive experience.

Despite the excitement surrounding the upcoming release, rumors of a system that includes plane trips between three different cities and a map inspired by a Latin American metropolis were denied by the trailer. Gamers will have to wait and see if GTA VI lives up to its promises and the rumors, or if it leaves fans wanting more.
