Nintendo Still Owes Us a Mother 3 Release

Many gamers have been waiting for Nintendo to release a localized version of Mother 3, a sequel to the beloved Earthbound series. Despite countless petitions and fan requests, the game has yet to be officially released outside of Japan.

In a recent Nintendo Direct: Partners Showcase, it was announced that Mother 3 would be available on the NSO + Expansion Pack service for the Game Boy Advance platform in Japan. This news has left many fans feeling both optimistic and sarcastic about the possibility of a full release or remaster.

The game, which deals with controversial themes such as loss, animal cruelty, and drugs, has faced scrutiny and has yet to receive a dedicated release outside of Japan. Despite rumors of an adaptation being in the works, it ultimately was scrapped.

For now, fans will have to continue to wait for the possibility of a localized release, or resort to streaming the game in Japanese. The satirical nature of the situation has left many gamers both hopeful and disheartened.
