Microsoft Expands AI Editing Functions of Photo App to Windows 10

Microsoft has recently made a significant move by bringing the AI editing functions of the Photo App, originally only available in Windows 11, to Windows 10. With AI technology assisting users in editing images, the process has become more convenient and efficient.

The tech giant announced the addition of a new Generative Erase function to the Windows Photos App. This feature utilizes AI technology to help users repair and remove unwanted objects in photos, such as background elements or passersby. By selecting Generative Erase and using a brush tool to paint over the object or area to be deleted, the AI algorithm automatically erases it. Users can also adjust the brush size to ensure accuracy in the editing process.

Moreover, users have the option to disable automatic application and manually add or remove masks for better control. The new function allows users to delete multiple objects simultaneously, and even when erasing large areas, the program promises to deliver seamless and realistic results.

Microsoft has started rolling out the Generative Erase function to all Windows Insiders, marking the first time the AI editing feature has been made available on Windows 10. Additionally, the current AI editing functions of the Photo App, such as background replacement, blur, and deletion, along with the new Generative Erase feature, can also be used on Windows 11 for Arm64 devices.

This development signifies a significant advancement in enhancing the editing capabilities of Windows users, making photo editing tasks more accessible and efficient. With AI technology integrated into popular apps like the Photo App, Microsoft continues to demonstrate its commitment to delivering innovative solutions for its users.
