Merge Games Announces Early Release of ARPG “Morbid: The Lords of Ire”

Game publisher Merge Games has exciting news for fans of dark, horror action RPGs. The new soul-like ARPG “Morbid: The Lords of Ire” developed by Still Running was originally set to be released on May 23, but it has now been brought forward to May 17. Along with the early release, a new video showcasing gameplay will be released simultaneously for players to enjoy.

“Morbid: The Lords of Ire” serves as the orthodox sequel to the popular “Morbid: The Seven Acolytes” released in 2020. Set several years after saving the kingdom, players will once again take on the role of heroic strivers battling terrifying monsters in a dark and twisted world.

One of the biggest features of the game is the transformation from its original 2D perspective to a new 3D viewpoint. It also maintains the unique “sanity system” from the previous game, affecting combat strategies and the surrounding world. Players can choose to embrace madness for powerful abilities but at a great risk.

Combat in the game offers a variety of techniques including weapon combos, “Rage Breaker” for attacking angry enemies, and “Repost” for counterattacking foes. Timing blocks can lead to recovering stamina and breaking enemy attacks with the “Perfect Block” move. The game promises a wide range of combat actions for players to uncover.

“Morbid: The Lords of Ire” is scheduled to be released on PC (Steam/Epic Games Store), PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on May 17. Interested players are encouraged to download the demo on Steam to practice combat moves and dive into the immersive world of “Morbid: The Lords of Ire.”
