Mediatek’s Dimensity 9300 chipset has been making waves in the mobile industry after its aggressive introduction of the “full large-core” computing architecture. The performance improvement has been evident as the chipset has been competing with Qualcomm’s 8G3 platform products for the top spot in the flagship Android phone performance list.

Recently, the OPPO Find X7 with a 16+1TB configuration equipped with Dimensity 9300 claimed the first place in the AnTuTu Android flagship mobile phone performance ranking for February 2024. With an impressive average score of 2,195,036, it outperformed the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and other top contenders in the list.

The top ten devices in the ranking saw an equal distribution between MediaTek and Qualcomm platforms, with four devices using Dimensity 9300 and six using the 8G3 platform. However, with fewer brands utilizing the Dimensity chipset, the competition may change once more smartphones with the 8G3 platform are launched in the market.

As more devices equipped with the Dimensity 9300 are released, and if brands like vivo and Oga, which primarily use Dimensity chips, do not introduce new products, the performance gap between the two platforms may continue to widen. It will be interesting to see how the competition unfolds in the coming months as manufacturers continue to push the boundaries of mobile technology.
