At Xiaomi’s Redmi Turbo 3 new product launch event, a small mistake caused quite a stir among attendees and online spectators. The Honor 100 Pro, which was showcased at the event, was mistakenly labeled as being equipped with the Snapdragon 7 Gen3 processor instead of the correct Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor.

This error immediately drew comparisons to a previous incident at the Zhiji L6 launch event, where Zhiji had inaccurately listed the parameters of Xiaomi’s SU7. In response to the mistake, Honor quickly issued an apology to Xiaomi, with brand general manager Wang Teng personally apologizing on the spot during the press conference.

However, Honor product manager Wei Xiaolong took to Weibo to express that the three apologies made by Zhiji were unnecessary. Wei clarified that the Honor 100 Pro indeed features the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor, not the Snapdragon 7 Gen3 as mistakenly indicated. The Honor X50 GT, the fifth model in their lineup, boasts a powerful combination of features including Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 processor, surface-resistant quality turbo, and a 5800mAh large battery.

Additionally, Honor CMO Jiang Hairong weighed in on the matter, pointing out that there have been fake announcements circulating online asking for apologies on behalf of Honor. Hairong emphasized that this incident, while a small mistake, serves as a lesson for Honor to remain true to itself and promote healthy competition in the Chinese mobile phone industry.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of accuracy in product marketing and the need for companies to take responsibility for any mistakes made. As the mobile phone industry continues to evolve, maintaining transparency and integrity is crucial for building trust with consumers and driving positive growth.
