[Epoch Times October 12, 2021]Before the 13th round of the Legion Commander’s meeting between China and India, on October 9, Indian Army Commander-in-Chief Naravane (MMNaravane) stated that the CCP’s presence in the eastern region of Ladakh Military buildup and new infrastructure construction are forming large-scale deployments. India has been paying close attention to all the activities of the Chinese Communist military.

He said that if the CCP troops continue to deploy, the Indian army will also maintain the same scale of military presence on the Indian side. What is worrying is that the large-scale build-up of the Chinese army has already taken place, and infrastructure construction continues. This means that the CCP army will stay there for the second winter, which puts both sides in a line of control (LC) situation, although not as active as the Western Front. He said: “But for sure, we will have to pay close attention to the assembly and deployment of all troops to ensure that they do not fall astray again.”

The world is currently suffering from the pandemic of the Chinese Communist Party virus (COVID-19), but the CCP has triggered an unprecedented confrontation against neighboring countries in the Taiwan Strait and the South China Sea. General Naravane said: “When all this is happening, it is very incomprehensible to open another front.” “But whatever it may be, I don’t think they have been able to achieve any intent.”

He said, “After the confrontation in eastern Ladakh, the Indian Army realized that it needed to do more in the intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) field.”

On May 5 last year, a border standoff broke out after a violent clash between Indian and Chinese troops in the Pangong Tso area in eastern Ladakh. The two sides continue to strengthen deployment in the border areas. After a series of military and diplomatic talks, the two sides achieved disengagement in the Gogra area in August. Currently, there are about 50,000 to 60,000 soldiers on both sides in sensitive areas along the LAC.

Although the confrontation between the two sides has not yet gone out of control, the conflict is still continuous, showing an extremely unstable state. Just a few days ago, Indian border forces thwarted an invasion by the Chinese Communists. Approximately 200 CCP soldiers tried to enter Arunachal Pradesh, India from the Tibetan border area, and contacted the Indian border troops. The conflict lasted for several hours. At that time, the CCP troops also tried to destroy the unoccupied bunker. Some CCP soldiers were in Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh was briefly detained by Indian soldiers. The incident occurred between the Bum La and Yangtse border crossings near the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

The Indian military did not make official comments on the incident. A source told the media that the China-India boundary has not been officially demarcated, and the understanding of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) is different. Both parties patrolled within their designated lines of control. Whenever the patrol teams of both sides meet, they will be dealt with according to the agreement and mechanism agreed by both sides.

Although the eastern part of Ladakh is undergoing a disengagement process, the latest invasion shows that the CCP is trying to expand their invasion operations to the eastern and central regions.

Thawan in Arunachal Pradesh has always been a point of friction between India and China. In the 1962 war, Tawang was the first to be occupied by the CCP. The CCP calls Tawang a part of Tibet, and at the same time calls Arunachal Pradesh the southern part of Tibet.

The historical significance of Tawang is that it is the birthplace of the sixth Dalai Lama and an important place for Tibetan Buddhism after Lhasa. Tawang provides a geographic access to the Yarlung Zangbo Plain, but it is a shortcut to Tispur, Assam. This gives Tawang an important military significance.
