The latest list shows that 4 Chinese institutions are among the top 10 in the world. Among them, the Chinese Academy of Sciences continues to top the list of institutions in the Nature Index, and its share is more than double that of the second-ranked Harvard University. The University of Chinese Academy of Sciences ranks among the top 10 institutions in the world for the first time, jumping from 13th to 8th. The University of Science and Technology of China jumped two places to 9th, and Peking University also jumped two places to 10th. There are 9 institutions in Guangdong ranked in the global top 500, of which 7 institutions are located in Guangzhou area.
Among them, Sun Yat-sen University is ranked 23rd, Southern University of Science and Technology is ranked 45th, South China University of Technology is ranked 82nd, Shenzhen University is ranked 146th, Jinan University is ranked 203rd, South China Normal University is ranked 263rd and Guangdong University of Technology is ranked 378, Southern Medical University ranked 429, and Guangzhou University ranked 499.
