The police in Rinteln (Schaumburg district) say they have solved 381 cases of fraud using the PayPal payment system. According to this, a 29-year-old is said to have defrauded people from all over Germany and across state borders. Officials have been investigating the man for more than six months. According to the police, he is said to have offered items on popular portals for prices of up to around 60 euros. However, after the injured parties sent the money to the accused, they did not receive any goods. According to the information, a total damage of 7,400 euros was caused. During a search, evidence of other crimes – including a break-in at a restaurant – was also seized. The files on the case will now be handed over to the Bückeburg public prosecutor’s office.
