An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 is reported by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) in Greece. The shock was felt at 4.23 am, Italian time, 5.23 am local time, north of Athens, with geographical coordinates (lat, lon) 38.9740, 23.3750 at a depth of 15 km.

A few days earlier, between 8 and 9 April, another earthquake of similar magnitude had also affected the European country. The earth trembled around 1am local time, with a magnitude of 4.5 recorded at 00:59 on 9 April (11.59pm on the 8th in Italy) with the epicenter in the Aetolia-Acarnania region. According to data from the Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), in that case the earthquake had a hypocenter at a depth of 29 kilometers. The earthquake was also distinctly felt in Calabria and Puglia but at the moment there are no reports of any damage to people or things. Nothing to do with the terrible earthquake recorded in Taiwan at the beginning of April.

It must be said that over the last few weeks several tremors have been recorded in the Adriatic area, towards the Balkans as well as in Greece. For example, an episode also affected the province of Pordenone, in Friuli. The magnitude was almost always between 4 and 5 degrees.
