Afghan refugees flying from the Sigonella base to the USA

by admin

A group of displaced people from Afghanistan left the Naval Air Station (Nas) of Sigonella for the United States. The planes bound for the USA took off at full capacity last night, transporting vulnerable American and Afghan citizens to Philadelphia and Dulles Airport (Washington), as part of the Allies Refuge operation.

State Department officials and their local staff, along with Nas Sigonella Navy personnel, a US press office note informs, have provided assistance ever since the evacuation mission began on August 22.
