Afghanistan, the drama of pregnant women in Panshir: seven out of ten no longer go to hospital and risk losing their child

They stopped getting treatment. Seven out of ten pregnant women – according to the doctors’ statistics – for some days no longer go to the Anabah hospital, the center for obstetrics, neonatology and pediatrics built by Emergency in the Panshir Valley. The province is not in the hands of the Taliban and the checkpoint has been upgraded.

Patients and their families believe it is too dangerous to move from other regions and reach the health facility founded in 2003.
