Ever since he was directing music videos, Nadine Labaki it is not new to controversies: yet a controversy so great that it spanned two countries and even landed among the benches of the Egyptian Parliament, perhaps not even the Lebanese director nominated for an Oscar had taken it into account. At the heart of the controversy is the Arabic version of Perfect strangers, remake of the film of the same name by Paolo Genovese of 2016.
