The Legislative Assembly of Pernambuco (Alepe) and Galo da Madrugada come together for an unprecedented action to raise environmental awareness during the Carnival parade. The partnership aims at the selective collection of recyclables, involving collectors from cooperatives and homeless people.
With the aim of promoting environmental education and encouraging recycling, the initiative, called “Galo 100% Reciclado”, is part of the “Galo da Madrugada Sustainable Carnival, Alepe 2024” Project. The action will feature a group of around forty members who will participate in the campaign during the parade, aiming to raise awareness among more than 2.5 million revelers about the importance of responsible consumption and production of materials.
Furthermore, the initiative will provide income for 142 people involved in selective collection, including members of cooperatives, individual recyclable collectors and homeless people. Alepe highlights that this partnership reinforces the Casa’s commitment to social actions and environmental preservation, highlighting the fundamental role of collectors in promoting recycling and environmental preservation.
