LONDON – Despite all fervent expectations, was William and Kate’s long-awaited expedition to the Caribbean and other islands of the Commonwealth a disaster? For some commentators, yes, and not because the two young Dukes of Cambridge made blunders or serious mistakes. The problem would have been the organization and the reasons for the trip, “worthy of the last century”, with “outdated provisions” and, in some cases, reminiscent of “old colonialism”.
