There is also an Aeneas in the Amazon. Aeneas of the forest, who, like the hero of Troy by now in flames, takes his old father Anchises on his shoulders to face a journey of no return. The exodus into the unknown that will take him to the coasts south of Rome where he will settle down by marrying Lavinia, the daughter of the local Latin king.
The new hero is called Tawy, he is 24 years old, of the indigenous Zoé tribe: a people of 325 men and women distributed in 50 small communities immersed in the jungle of the State of Pará, north of Brazil, on the border with Suriname and French Guiana.
