Two brothers, prime suspects in the murder of British journalist Dom Phillips and Bruno Pereira, who disappeared a week ago in an Amazon region, confessed to having murdered them. Local police sources have made it known to the press. The two confessed in separate interrogations to killing the journalist collaborating with the Guardian newspaper and the indigenist.
They had been transferred by the federal police to the place where the disappearance took place, last June 5 in a region of the Amazon near the border between Brazil and Peru and Colombia, to help search for the bodies. They are two fishermen brothers Amarildo da Costa Oliveira, called ‘Pelado’, and Oseney da Costa de Oliveira, known as ‘Dos Santos’, the first arrested last week, the second arrested on Tuesday.
