On October 29, local time, French President Macron, who participated in the G20 summit, said in an interview with the British “Financial Times” that Britain’s creditworthiness has been questioned on the issue of British and French fisheries.
Macron stated that France neither wants to provoke nor increase tensions on the fisheries issue, but that Britain and France need to respect each other and abide by previous agreements. He emphasized that it took years for the two parties to negotiate an agreement, but one of them did something that violated the agreement. This is not a good way to prove “credit.”
According to French media reports, French President Macron will meet with British Prime Minister Johnson during the G20 branch this weekend.
