According to the report, the newly added companies on the US Department of Commerce’s blacklist include quantum computing companies and semiconductor companies.
The report pointed out that the U.S. Department of Commerce blacklisted these companies, which would effectively prevent U.S. companies from selling materials and equipment to them.
The report said that while the US Department of Commerce made this move, the Biden administration publicly expressed concerns about some rapid developments in Beijing’s military.
Jacob Stokes, a researcher at the New American Security Center, a think tank in Washington, said: “As part of the competition, American policymakers are trying to prevent key technologies from entering China through commercial channels.”
According to reports, including the above-mentioned 12 Chinese companies, a total of 27 entities were blacklisted by the US on Wednesday, most of which are from Pakistan, with one each from Japan and Singapore.
At the regular press conference held by the Ministry of Commerce of China on November 25, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce Shu Jueting said that the new sanctions list issued by the US Department of Commerce does not conform to the consensus of the Chinese and American heads of state and is not conducive to the two countries.
