News from Yerevan: On the 21st local time, according to the latest news from the Central Election Commission of Armenia, the “Citizens Accord” party, the party to which the current acting prime minister Pasinyan belongs, won the parliamentary election.
The early elections for the Armenian parliament ended on the 20th. A total of 21 political parties and 4 political parties contended for seats in the parliament. The Armenian Parliament has a unicameral system with 101 seats. The term of office is 5 years. According to Armenian law, political parties with more than 5% of votes and coalitions of political parties with more than 7% of votes can enter the parliament.
The number of registered voters for this election exceeded 2.57 million, and there were 2008 polling stations nationwide. The voting lasted from 8 o’clock on the 20th to 20 o’clock on the same day. The chairman of the Central Election Commission of Armenia Jigran Muku announced quite a few days that 2,510 candidates nominated by various political parties will participate in this parliamentary election. 483 international observers and 8,749 Armenian supervisors supervised the election.
