AstraZeneca said in a statement that the judge of the Brussels court to which the EU Commission had turned has ordered the company to deliver 80.2 million total doses to the European Union by 27 September. The EU Commission, in its lawsuit against the pharmaceutical company, had requested a total of 120 million doses of the vaccine by the end of June, and a total of 300 million doses by the end of September.

The company has announced that it has already delivered more than 70 million doses to the European Union so far and will substantially exceed 80.2 million doses by the end of June. “All other measures requested by the European Commission were rejected, and in particular the Court found that the European Commission has no exclusivity or priority right over all the other contracting parties”, writes the company in a note welcoming the judgment.
