AstroSamantha sets another record: she will be the first European woman to command the International Space Station (ISS). The announcement came yesterday from the headquarters of the European Space Agency: “Role of commander for astronaut Esa Samantha Cristoforetti in expedition 68a”. The mission is scheduled for spring 2022, although no other details are leaked: “the operational plans of the Space Station and launch dates are in the process of being consolidated”, reads the official statement.
