On Thursday night (15), Athletico-PR and Operário-PR played a balanced match at the Ligga Arena, in Curitiba, for the ninth round of the Paranaense Championship. In a busy game, but with the defenses taking advantage, the teams did not go from 0 to 0. Both teams, however, are classified for the knockout phase of the competition.

With the draw, Athletico remains in the lead, with 21 points, while Operário-PR is in fifth place, with 14 points. The teams return to the field on Sunday. Operário hosts FC Cascavel, at 4pm (Brasília time), while Athletico plays the classic with Coritiba, at Couto Pereira, at 6:30pm.

Athletico-PR and Operário have a good first half

The first half was marked by intensity and opportunities for both sides. Athletico, playing at home, started pressing, but Operário was not intimidated and also created its chances. In the fourth minute, debutant Di Yorio had a good opportunity, but his shot went over the baseline.

Soon after, Ronaldo took a risk from distance, demanding an important save from Bento. Furacão responded with Zapelli, after a well-worked play by Felipinho. In the final minutes, Operário almost opened the scoring with a well-executed counterattack, but Felipe Augusto’s shot was saved by the red-black goalkeeper.

Pace drops in second half

In the second half, Athletico was unable to maintain the pace. In this way, Operário began to exploit errors in the opponent’s ball release, creating dangerous opportunities. Ronaldo and Jacy were scared with shots from outside the box and headers, respectively. In the 21st minute, Cássio Gabriel found Felipe Augusto in the area, but the attacker stopped after another good save from Bento. At the end of the match, Canobbio had two good chances to score, but Operário’s defense remained firm.
