According to reports, this chicken farm detected H5 avian influenza virus in dead chickens on the 13th. Subsequently, the Kagoshima Prefecture government organized the culling of approximately 38,000 chickens on the chicken farm.

The Kagoshima prefectural government stated that the culling operation ended at 11 am local time on the 14th, and the disinfection activities in the chicken coop are still ongoing.
