“In this migrant crisis, the bad guys have gone so far as to kill people.” This is what Alexander Lukashenko said, accusing Lithuania of killing migrants during a meeting with the leaders of the Ministry of Defense.
The accusations come in reaction to the news of another migrant who died on the border between Belarus. According to the 67-year-old strongman from Minsk, who appeared in uniform, Lithuanians are bringing “dead or half-dead” migrants to the Belarusian border. The Belarusian border guard today announced that a migrant camped on the border with Lithuania was found dead, and another was found over the weekend. According to the International Red Cross, more than 10 people have died since the standoff between Belarus and its EU neighbors over the entry of migrants that Minsk brought to the border began.
Vilnius denied the accusations: Lithuanian border guards said that Belarus has repeatedly tried to stage cases of beating or even paralysis of migrants, blaming Lithuania for such “inhuman treatment”.
