Madrid’s lead increased in the 35th minute after Jude Bellingham listed his name on the scoreboard. Receiving a breakthrough pass from Vinicus, Bellingham escaped the guard of two defenders to get the ball.

Bellingham easily got past the goalkeeper’s challenge before hitting the ball into the empty net. The 2-0 score lasted until halftime.

Madrid still dominated the game in the second half to try to add another goal and did not let Girona develop the game.

Madrid got the third goal in the 54th minute through Bellingham’s brace. This time Vicinius started Madrid’s counterattack from the left side to stab into the penalty box after passing two players.

VInicius shot but the ball was pushed over by Gazzaniga. Bellingham quickly threw the ball into the empty goal.

Rodrygo made it 4-0 in the 61st minute after making a quick counterattack, stabbing into the penalty box and shooting past Gazzaniga’s challenge.

After the fourth goal, Madrid lowered the tempo of the game and made many changes. Madrid got a golden opportunity to add a goal in injury time after Joselu was brought down in the forbidden box.

Joselu, who was the executor, failed to carry out his duties because his shot hit the post. The score 4-0 closed the Real Madrid vs Girona match.

These additional three points mean that Los Merengues remain firmly at the top of the Spanish League standings with 61 points from 14 matches, five points ahead of Girona in second place.
