Sao Paulo of Brazil. – The authorities of the Brazilian state of Maranhao, in the north-east, have imposed a fine on the president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, for not wearing a medical mask and for gathering during a demonstration with more than one hundred people held in the municipality of Acailandia.
The penalty for non-compliance with the anti Covid rules varies between two thousand and 1.5 million reales (ie between 380 and 283 thousand dollars). In the demonstration Bolsonaro had returned to attack the social distancing measures imposed against the pandemic by local mayors and governors.
