The third case of Omicron strain infection in Brazil. The patient has a recent history of travel to Africa

[China News Service Sao Paulo]The Health Department of the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil, reported on December 1, local time that the state had confirmed the third case of Omicron strain infection in Brazil, and the patient had a recent history of travel in Africa.
The São Paulo State Health Department stated that the infected person was a 29-year-old man living in Guarulhos City, São Paulo State. He tested positive for the new crown virus when he arrived at Guarulhos International Airport in Sao Paulo on November 27 from Ethiopia, Africa, via South Africa. The man has no symptoms and had already received two doses of Pfizer vaccine. Currently, he is quarantining at home.
The São Paulo State Health Department also stated that on November 30, the state confirmed two cases of Omi Kiron strain infection. The patient is a Brazilian couple living in South Africa, aged 41 and 37, and both have a history of travel to South Africa. After investigation, both of them received a single dose of Janssen’s new crown vaccine in South Africa. At present, the health department of Sao Paulo is monitoring the two and their families, and tracking people who have had close contact with them, and quarantining them.
According to Brazilian media reports, there are currently two suspected cases of Omi Keron virus infection in Brazil. On November 21, a woman from South Africa tested negative for the new crown when she arrived in Rio de Janeiro, but when she retested on November 29 due to work reasons, the result was positive. In Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais, a 33-year-old woman was also found to be suspected of being infected with the Omi Keron variant. The patient had a recent travel history to the Congo (Brazzaville).
