Brazil, demonstrations to demand impeachment for Bolsonaro

Tens of thousands of Brazilians took to the streets last night in protest against the president’s handling of the coronavirus crisis Jair Bolsonaro, and according to some observers it was the largest demonstration the country has ever seen since the beginning of the pandemic.

In some of the country’s main cities, including São Paulo, Rio and Brasilia, demonstrators have called for the impeachment of Bolsonaro – a far-right leader who has always underestimated the threat of the virus and flaunted annoyance with anti-masks and restrictions.
