Brazil, gold miners fire on indigenous people in the Amazon

MANAUS – The clash between illegal gold miners and indigenous communities is getting worse Yanomami in the protected areas of the Amazon. The Yanomami area is the largest protected reserve in Brazil: according to unofficial estimates, there are at least twenty thousand unauthorized gold miners.
