Work has begun on the first day of the European summit in Brussels. We will discuss the rise in energy prices, Covid-19, trade, migration and digital transition but also the rule of law after the case of Poland. It is the last European summit for the outgoing German chancellor, Angela Merkel, the 107th in his 16 years at the helm of Germany. For the occasion, the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, organized a family photo and a small greeting ceremony.
