After 34 years of waiting, the trial for the murder of 1987 opens today in Ouagadougou Thomas sankara, the “African Che Guevara”. The military court of the capital of Burkina Faso is called to judge the actions of 14 defendants, including the former president Blaise Compaore, who came to power thanks to the death of his “friend” Sankara, overthrown in 2014 and now in exile in the Ivory Coast.
