Canada, the man who translated for the Nazis died at 97: the government had been trying to extradite him for 26 years

by admin

Helmut Oberlander, a former Nazi interpreter, he died at the age of 97 in Canada, while the government arranged papers and files to start the last phase of the long process that would have removed him from the country, after decades of failed attempts: the government has been trying to extradite him for his war crimes for 26 years.

Oberlander was only 17 when he was drafted into the Einsatzgruppen, the Nazi death squad operating in the German-occupied Soviet Union during World War II.
