Two Catholic churches in South Okanagan in British Columbia were burned down yesterday in a native reservation in British Columbia, on the day Canada celebrated National Indigenous Peoples Day. The police consider the incidents “suspicious” and have opened an investigation.
The churches destroyed by the fires, the Sacred Heart and San Gregorio, are located about 100 kilometers from Kamloops, where in May the remains of 215 children were found in a former residential school, the Christian colleges where the little torn Aborigines were brought to families.
