Carey: Purchasing Pfizer vaccines to vaccinate children between 5 and 12 years old
(Petaling Jaya, 29th) Health Minister Carey pointed out that China will purchase Pfizer vaccines to provide vaccination for children between 5 and 12 years old.
He also pointed out that the government will consider including other vaccine options, such as Kexing, into the Children’s National Coronary Immunization Program (PICK).
U.S. FDA experts support Pfizer
He tweeted today that Malaysia will continue to purchase Pfizer vaccines for children following the support of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) expert group to vaccinate children from 5 to 12 years old against Pfizer Coronavirus.
“We will also study other options, such as Coxing.”
According to Bloomberg News, the US FDA’s External Expert Advisory Committee passed the recommendation on Tuesday (October 26) with a vote of 17 to 0 and 1 abstention.
According to relevant recommendations, the dose of vaccination for children aged 5 to 11 is one-third of that for those aged 12 and over.
82.4% of our adolescents partially vaccinated. 62% fully vaccinated. This will mean #ReopeningSchools safely. With FDA panel recommending Pfizer jab for 5-12 yo, Malaysia will go forward with our procurement of Pfizer for kids. We will also look at other options like Sinovac. https://t.co/0HbEo4S0PJ pic.twitter.com/TgqnkFvOdr
