Castillo swears in as president. Peru in a showdown with the left in power

by admin

It’s Peru’s big day. Almost two months after the highly contested elections and only eight days after the official proclamation of the winner, the master Pedro Castillo is sworn in as the new president of the Andean country. This time it takes on a particular historical and political value: it is the Bicentenary of the ransom from the Spanish Crown.
