Cathay launches the longest flight in the world: from New York to Hong Kong for 17,000 kilometers. So avoid Russia

ROMA – Cathay Pacific, the flag carrier of Hong Kong, is planning the longest passenger flight in the world. The direct connection from New York to Hong Kong will be routed over the Atlantic instead of the Pacific, to avoid crossing the Arctic and especially Russia.

The flight – declares the air carrier – will cover 16,668 kilometers in almost 18 hours of continuous navigation.
