by admin

Chinese exports jump in August. According to data released today by the Chinese Customs Agency, national exports in August recorded a growth of 25.6% on an annual basis, supported in particular by sales of electronic products and the global recovery.

This is the fastest growth rate since February in the Asian country’s overseas sales. The performance is much better than expected: economists were expecting a slowdown (+ 17.1%), after an increase of 19.3% over a year the previous month. As a result of the growth in exports, the Chinese trade balance recorded a positive balance of € 58.34 billion in the month.

In August, Chinese exports were particularly driven by strong demand for electronic products and entertainment items “ahead of the Christmas shopping season” in Western countries.
