China out of the Covid emergency

China is out of the Coronavirus emergency: the National Health Commission has communicated 27 new positives to Covid, one of which is from local contagion, in the northern province of Heilongjiang. The remaining 26 cases were found among foreign travelers. Health authorities also reported today that they detected 15 asymptomatic cases, 13 of which were “imported” from abroad, although Beijing does not count them as confirmed cases unless they exhibit symptoms. The total of this type of infections under observation is 343, of which 330 from other territories.

The Commission further specified that, until last local midnight (16:00 GMT on Sunday), 38 patients were discharged after successfully passing the covid. The total number of active infected in mainland China amounts to 857, of which 4 are serious. According to the agency’s reports, since the beginning of the pandemic, 96,258 people have been infected in the country, of which 90,765 managed to recover and 4,636 died. To date, 1,201,863 close contacts with infected people have been followed, of which 28,257 are still under observation.
