In 2021, a total of 346 China-Vietnam trains operated throughout the year, a year-on-year increase of 108.4%, surpassing the total of the first four years since the opening, and setting a new high in the number of cross-border trains operated by China Railway Nanning Bureau Group Co., Ltd.

2021 is the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the China-ASEAN dialogue relationship. China-ASEAN trade has shown a strong momentum of development, and the scale of bilateral trade has increased 85 times compared with 30 years ago. With the development of China-ASEAN cooperation entering the “fast lane”, since the start of the China-Vietnam train in August 2017, the momentum of development has continued to improve, with increasingly abundant cargo and increasing volume. Through the China-Vietnam train, special fruits, electronic products and daily necessities from ASEAN countries are delivered to Nanning International Railway Port and distributed to all parts of the country, or sent to European countries via Chongqing and Chengdu; domestic glass, cotton yarn, electronic components, diesel engines, etc. After being assembled at Nanning International Railway Port, it was transported to Vietnam and other ASEAN countries via Pingxiang.

In order to promote the opening of China-Vietnam trains, Nanning Bureau Group Corporation strengthened the organization of sources of goods, formulated transportation plans tailored to customers, provided logistics general contracting services for large-scale manufacturing enterprises, and successfully launched “China-Vietnam-Laos” cross-border multimodal transportation, Thailand imported fruit, Special trains such as China-Vietnam-China-Europe joint transportation have further enriched the forms and routes of cargo transportation between China and ASEAN. At the same time, taking the opening of the Nanning International Railway Port Customs Supervision Workplace as an opportunity, establish a business interconnection and information sharing and intercommunication mechanism with the customs department, vigorously promote “paperless” customs clearance, “one-stop” services and other services, and work together to reduce cross-border shifts List the time of stay at the port to realize the “one-day delivery” of cargo transportation from Nanning to Hanoi.

In addition, in terms of epidemic prevention and control, Nanning Bureau Group Corporation strengthened the prevention and control of cross-border transportation epidemics, refined the prevention and control standards of various posts and personnel, improved the card control measures and emergency response procedures in each link, and guarded the national transportation epidemic prevention customs. In 2021, the China-Vietnam train has shipped 19,400 tons of fruit cargo such as durian, mangosteen, and longan through cold chain transportation, a year-on-year increase of 14.66%.

On January 1, 2022, the “Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement” (RCEP), a free trade agreement involving the world’s most populous, largest economic and trade scale, and the most potential for development, came into effect. Members include China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand5 The total population, economic volume, and total trade volume of the 15 member countries account for about 30% of the global total. The economic and trade exchanges between China and ASEAN will usher in a new era of rapid development.

In 2022, Nanning Bureau Group Company is expected to open 400 China-Vietnam trains. Based on new opportunities, the Guangxi Railway Department will give full play to the role of the two major “parks” of Nanning International Railway Port and Pingxiang Port Logistics Center of the State Railways, increase the operation of China-Vietnam trains, and promote the deepening of China-ASEAN economic and trade cooperation.
