MONTREAL – Quebec, Canada’s second most populous province, which is struggling to control the Omicron variant, will tax those who are not vaccinated against Covid in a move that could open the debate on individual rights and social responsibilities.
“We are working on a health contribution for all adults who refuse to get vaccinated” because they represent a “financial burden for all Quebecers,” said the premier. Francois Legault, specifying that the proposal will not apply to those who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons.
