Covid, 4,529 deaths in India in one day: never so many since the start of the pandemic

Never so many in one day. Another sad record for India which in the past 24 hours has recorded 4,529 deaths due to Covd-19. Since the beginning of the pandemic there has never been such a high number in any other country in the world. The sad record previously belonged to the United States which had suffered a loss of 4,475 in 24 hours.

The situation

After exceeding 400,000 new cases every day, the contagion curve in India seems to have been downhill in the last week. Recent data speak of a number that is around 260 thousand cases.
Official deaths amounted to over 280,000, while only 3% of the population received a full dose of the vaccine.
