Covid, emergency in Germany: first patients transferred to Italian hospitals

In the gloomy spring of Covid, in the acute phase of the first wave of the pandemic, when the virus had overwhelmed especially Lombardy, Germany had offered to welcome patients from the overcrowded hospitals of Bergamo. Now that Germany is struggling, suffering from skyrocketing rates of contagion and a quota of hospitalized patients that touched 5.7 patients for every hundred thousand inhabitants, Italy has immediately declared itself available to help it.
