Covid in the world: China, three Omicron cases in Yuzhou, a city in lockdown

by admin

About 1.2 million people in a central Chinese city ended up in lockdown, confined to their homes, after authorities found three asymptomatic cases of the Omicron variant. The quarantine was imposed on the inhabitants of Yuzhou, in the province of Henan who since last night were asked not to leave their homes to avoid the spread of the virus. China today detected a total of 175 new positives and, although the cases are almost infinitesimal compared to the rest of the world, it is still the highest figure since March 2020.
