The increase in infections and hospitalizations have prompted the American administration to change the recommendations: now people over 50 are advised “strongly” to take the second booster against Covid, while on Thursday the first booster was given the okay Pfizer for children aged 5 to 11. Until a few weeks ago, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the main federal health agency, limited the fourth dose to people over 65 or those with particular health problems.
